Signature styles

In Fill & Sign, choose Edit styles… to pick one of six built-in styles or build your own with stacked logos, editable text lines, fonts and any date format. Styles change only how a signature looks. One style can be the default for each certificate. Styles are part of Pro; signing stays free.

A style describes how a signature is drawn on the page: its logos, text lines, fonts and date format. It changes the appearance only. The preview in the style sheet and the signature written into the PDF come from the same renderer.

Built-in styles

Six styles ship with the app: Default (with the Better PDF mark behind the text), Acrobat, Classic (two columns), Handwritten, Compact and Detailed.

Each is a starting point: duplicate it and change any part.

Make your own

Open Fill & Sign › Edit styles…. A style can have:

  • Background images, stacked in order, each with its own opacity, size, position on a 3 × 3 anchor grid with a free offset, and a choice of behind or in front of the text. Drag on the preview to move a layer, drag a corner to resize it.
  • The name, typed, drawn, or an image of your handwritten signature.
  • Text lines you can edit, reorder and switch on or off, with placeholders that fill in when you sign: {name}, {date}, {time}, {reason}, {location}, {contact} and {serial}.
  • Font, size and weight per line.
  • Dates in ISO 8601, ISO with a space, any system style or your own pattern, in local time, UTC or a named time zone.

Press ⌘S to save a style, Esc to cancel.

A default per certificate

Tick “Use for … by default” in the sheet and that style is chosen whenever you sign with that certificate.

Signature styles are part of Pro. Signing itself, with a certificate, smart card or USB token, is free.
