Your Pro licence, and moving it to another Mac
Pro is one payment with no subscription, the same in both editions — $9.99 for the first 100 buyers (the founder price), $19.99 up to 500, $29.99 after that. One purchase covers Mac, iPhone and iPad. From betterpdf.co it is a licence key for one Mac, one iPhone and one iPad that you can deactivate at any time; in the Mac App Store it is a Universal Purchase with Family Sharing.
Pro is the same single payment in both editions. There is no account and no subscription.
What it costs
Pro is priced by how many licences have been sold:
- $9.99 for the first 100 licences (the founder price)
- $19.99 up to 500
- $29.99 after that
The pricing section on the home page shows how many founder licences are left. The price you pay is the price for good: there is no renewal.
Direct download (betterpdf.co)
- You receive a licence key.
- One key covers one Mac, one iPhone and one iPad.
- Moving to a new Mac? Deactivate the old one in Settings › Licence. That frees its place, so you can enter the key on the new Mac.
Where is my key?
Right after you pay, the key appears on the thank-you page, and Polar emails it to you with the receipt (which is also your invoice). Lost it? Search your inbox for the receipt email from Polar: it has the key and a link to your Polar purchase page, where the key is always shown. Or get your key again with the email you bought with. Lost access to that email? Write to [email protected].
To activate, open Better PDF › Settings › Licence, paste the key, type the email you bought with and press Activate. You can buy Pro here.
Moving to a new Mac
- On the old Mac, open Settings › Licence and press Deactivate. If the old Mac is gone or broken, remove it on your Polar account page instead (linked from the receipt email).
- On the new Mac, download Better PDF and activate the same key.
Refunds
A full refund within 14 days of buying: reply to the receipt email from Polar or write to [email protected]. The refunded key stops activating Pro.
Mac App Store
- Pro is an in-app purchase tied to your Apple Account.
- It is a Universal Purchase: it covers Better PDF on your Macs, iPhone and iPad.
- Family Sharing is on, so the people in your family group get Pro too.
- To use it on a new Mac, sign in with the same Apple Account and restore purchases.
iPhone and iPad
One purchase. Mac, iPhone and iPad. Better PDF for iPhone and iPad is coming to the App Store, free, with nothing to buy in its first version: every Lens filter, every export size and OCR are included, for scans up to 100 pages.
A later version adds iOS Pro for new on-device features. Mac Pro includes it, in both editions:
- Mac App Store: unlocked automatically on iPhone and iPad under the same Apple Account.
- Direct download: the same licence key works on one iPhone and one iPad as well as your Mac. Scan the code in the Mac’s Settings › Licence, or type the key. Need more devices? Email [email protected] and we will usually add them.
Which edition to choose
Same app, same price. The App Store adds Family Sharing. The direct download adds USB tokens that need a PKCS#11 driver, such as the Watchdata ProxKey, and crash reports in Diagnostics.
