How activation works.
- Buy ProPay once at the checkout. Polar takes the payment, adds any VAT and emails your receipt and invoice.
- Get your keyIt appears on the thank-you page as soon as the payment clears, and in the receipt email from Polar.
- Activate itIn Better PDF, open Settings › Licence › Enter Licence…, paste the key and the email you bought with, and press Activate. Pasting the whole receipt fills both. One key activates on one Mac, one iPhone and one iPad.

The App Store edition sells Pro inside the app, and Apple takes the payment, refunds and receipts. It is a Universal Purchase with Family Sharing under your Apple Account. One purchase. Mac, iPhone and iPad. A licence key from this page works only in the direct download, so buy whichever matches the edition you use.

Which edition does the key unlock?
The direct download of Better PDF for Mac from betterpdf.co. The Mac App Store edition sells Pro inside the app through Apple instead.
Which devices does it cover?
One Mac, plus one iPhone and one iPad. Moving to a new Mac? Deactivate the old one in Better PDF › Settings › Licence, then activate the key on the new Mac. How licences work
I got a new Mac.
On the old Mac, open Settings › Licence and choose Deactivate this Mac…. If the old Mac is gone, see your account page. Then download Better PDF on the new Mac and activate the same key. Your account page
Can I try it first?
Yes. Every copy has 7 days of full Pro on first launch, with nothing to enter. After the trial, reading, searching, forms, markup, pages and signing keep working, free, for good; only the Pro tools wait for a licence.
Is it a subscription?
No. Pro is one payment. There is no renewal and no account to keep.
What is the refund policy?
A full refund within 14 days of buying. Reply to the receipt email from Polar or write to [email protected]. The refunded key stops activating Pro.
Who charges VAT, and where is my invoice?
Polar sells Pro as the merchant of record. It adds any VAT or sales tax for your country at checkout, and the receipt email it sends is your invoice.
I lost my licence key.
It is in the receipt email from Polar, which also links to your Polar purchase page where the key is always shown. Or get it again with your email. Get your key again
